Sharklife Conservation group

In this series, I’ll be sharing behind-the-scenes insights into my daily life in marine conservation working at Sharklife in Sodwana Bay, South Africa, from underwater encounters and scientific fieldwork to training interns and running conservation programs.

Expect a mix of marine life sightings, research updates, conservation challenges, teaching moments, and real-life stories from the field. Some days are filled with sharks, dolphins, and turtles, while others revolve around data collection, briefings, dive planning, and long hours in the water. Together, they form the reality of working in marine conservation, messy, unpredictable, exhausting, but incredibly meaningful.

Whether you’re curious about what life as a marine biologist actually looks like, interested in shark conservation, or simply love the ocean, this series offers an honest look into conservation work both above and below the surface.
